Piazza di Spagna

One of the most famous squares in Rome

Piazza di Spagna, at the foot of the Spanish Steps that connect it to the square of the same name, is one of the most famous in Rome. It owes its name to the Palazzo di Spagna, home to the Spanish Embassy to the Holy See since 1622. Seen from above, it resembles a butterfly wing, formed by two triangles with a common vertex.
